HOMECOMING 2017 EVENTS

For Homecoming week, teachers can design their door with the Homecoming theme, which is Red Carpet!!! Your first hour class will be responsible for decorating the door (Second if you donít have a first hour). The teacher with the best door will be given donuts for their 1st hour (or second hour) class, courtesy of Winnsboro Sports! May the best door win!!!!

For the spirit of homecoming and to maintain class pride, please sit in the are designated for your class during the pep rally on Friday.  There will be signs to help you out.


  • --Friday, the 20th - We will run a regular class schedule, not activity schedule.

Homecoming Ribbons will be sold for $1 from TODAY. Each ribbon will be numbered. Every day, the positive behavior team will announce one number. If you have the ribbon with the matching number, you will receive a SPIRIT WEEK BAG. One number will be called during the pep rally as well. If your number is called during the pep rally, you will receive a free pass to get into the game. YOU MUST BUY A RIBBON AND KEEP UP WITH IT TO PARTICIPATE.

   
GIRL'S BASKETBALL:  tryouts will be Monday, October 23rd in the gym at 5 pm.  Any girl that is interested see Coach Wiley and inform her that you will be trying out or simply show up at 4:30 after school.
REMINDER: The Donut Attendance Challenge ends Friday, November 10th.  We challenge you to attend school for the next 18 days in a row from 7:40 - 2:55.

UNITED WE STAND AGAINST BULLYING AND DRUGS: October 23rd - 27th is National Red Ribbon Week. We invite everyone to participate in our focus on the importance of standing up against bullying and drugs.

  • Numbered ribbons will be distributed. Students are encouraged to keep their ribbon all week long. At the end of each day, numbers will be called to receive a participation prize.
  • Essay contest. Submit a one page essay about the importance of standing up against bullying or drugs. Why is it important to be proactive in efforts to protect yourself and / or others from the harmful effects of bullying or drugs? What are some of the harmful effects of bullying and/or drugs? How can standing up to this make a difference? Submit your essay to Ms. Beeman by Thursday at 3pm.  The winner will be recognized Friday.
  • ORANGE OUT DAY: Wednesday, Oct. 25 is National Stand Up to Bullying Day. Students who wear orange (The Pacer's National Anti-Bullying Campaign Color) are allowed to wear jeans. Please follow the guidelines regarding appropriate jeans.  Orange shirts, socks, lipstick, nail polish, hair ribbons are appropriate examples. IF UNSURE, ASK IN ADVANCE.
  • Please watch the daily short videos each morning immediately following channel one.
Sunday, October 29th is Patriot Day at River of Life Church.   The meal will be served at 5:00 PM and the service will start at 6:00 PM. All students are invited to attend.
FRIENDLY REMINDER:   With cool weather finally arriving in the South, students will be wearing hoodies daily.  Please make sure your hoodie has something on it with the FPHS/Patriot logo.  These are the only hoodie that may be worn to school. Show your Patriot Pride.

STUDENTS: Grade Recovery begins Monday, October 23rd, 3:00-5:00 pm. If you have failed any Math, Science, English or History class please see Ms. Teats in room 103 to enroll. All classes will be held  in the computer library lab and room 109.

TEACHERS:  The FBLA is hosting a food drive.  The cans will be turned into the library November 6 - 10. The office will not accept cans from parents, the student must turn in the cans to the library.   Each student may turn in 10 cans for 10 points. Ms. Cordill will give the student a slip stating how many cans they have turned in.  The students can give the slip to the teacher of their choice.  TEACHERS please take the slip from the student.  The students can only use their slip in ONE class.

TAKE NOTE:   It is football season.  All students that are not practicing football are to be off the campus no later than 3:30 and are not to return.  If you are caught in the gym WITHOUT a coach in there, you will be CHARGED with trespassing.

    Wednesday. October 25, 2017 Mrs. Southern and Mrs. Adams will take a group of seniors to Louisiana Delta Community College in West Monroe. They will tour the campus and each program that they offer, then have a quick lunch in the mall. If you are interested in this trip, please sign up with her in the guidance office. First come, first serve, money and permissions slips are due by 10/24/2017!

BETA ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

►Betas who would like to volunteer for the Franklin Parish Medical Center Fall Festival, which will be TOMORROW, 10am - noon, should see Mrs. Beeman to sign up.

FBLA ANNOUNCEMENTS:
►If you have not turned in your money for the candy fundraiser, ALL $75 is due to Mrs. Bland NOW.

►Anyone who has something to be donated to the gift basket raffle needs to turn it in to an adviser by Monday, October 23.

FCCLA ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

►All dues and candy money  must be turned in  ASAP.  The affiliation money is being sent in Friday.  All dues must be turned in.

FCS ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

►All $5 membership fees are due Friday, October 27th. If you do not pay by then you will not be able to attend any of the meetings. Also, Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes are a requirement in order to attend the November meeting. If you have any questions or need to pay see Mr. Dugard (room 207)
